Community Social Services and Programs

Do you care about community social services, programs, or supports in the County of Grande Prairie? Whether you’ve used services before or are simply passionate about making the County a better place, we want to hear from you!

As communities grow and change, it is important to understand what supports are working well, where barriers exist, and what opportunities could help improve quality of life for residents. Your feedback will help us improve and plan future programs and services that matter most to residents.

Why We Want to Hear From Residents

We are shaping stronger communities, together.

The people who live, work, volunteer, and raise their families in the County understand community life better than anyone else. Your experiences help us understand what is working well, where challenges exist, and where future investments may have the greatest impact.

Community well-being looks different for everyone. For some, it means having access to support programs. For others, it means feeling connected, included, and supported in their community. Understanding these experiences helps the County's Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) gain a more complete picture of local needs and opportunities.

Research has consistently shown that community members often identify different priorities than organizations or service providers. That is why hearing directly from residents is such an important part of future planning.

How Your Feedback Will Be Used

Your feedback will help the County understand the needs of residents and inform future planning.

This information will be used to:

  • Identify strengths within the community and highlight what’s working within social service programming and delivery
  • Understand barriers that may prevent residents from accessing services
  • Inform future FCSS planning and priorities and support grant funding decisions
  • Understand opportunities for growth

Feedback collected during this project will be carefully reviewed alongside other research, demographic information, and community trends.

While not every idea can be implemented, every response contributes to a broader understanding of community needs and helps guide future decisions.

Your Privacy Matters

Trusting us with your experience helps build a better community.

The County follows strict privacy requirements under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). Survey responses will be anonymous and cannot be connected back to individual participants. Any optional prize draw information will be collected separately from survey responses to protect anonymity.

Information collected through this project will be securely stored and managed according to County records management practices.
