Grande Prairie Regional Public Transportation Study

The County and City of Grande Prairie, in collaboration with the Towns of Wembley, Beaverlodge, and Sexsmith, want to hear how a regional transit network can best suit your needs.

The study will explore how the region’s existing various independent bus and shuttle transit routes could potentially be combined into a single service that will be more efficient, reliable, and convenient.

The project team would like to hear from as many people as possible about transportation needs and options in the region, including what is already working well, and what can be improved. In addition to seeking feedback from community members, the project team has engaged with current transit service providers, local governments, and First Nations.

Residents are now invited to share their ideas and perspectives on a regional transit network.

Your thoughts matter to ensure everyone in the region has access to the services they need.

The project team, led by WATT Consulting Group, will be out in the region March 12th and 13th to discuss public transportation needs and opportunities with residents.

The project team is seeking input from residents to share their ideas and perspectives on how inter-regional transit could meet their needs. The following open houses will be held in each of the participating communities:

Residents are also encouraged to complete the survey before March 29, 2024. The online version of the survey can be found HERE. Paper copies are also available at your local municipal office or public library.

The information gathered through the in-person open houses and survey will guide the study to develop the best possible transportation solution for the region.
