FAQs
What is a Recreation Strategic Plan?
A Recreation Stratetgic Plan is a planning document that provides a roadmap for the future of recreation in the County and will be used by Council and administration on an ongoing basis to inform prioritization and decision making.
Why is community input important?
By sharing your experiences and ideas, you help us understand what recreation spaces and opportunities are most valued, what gaps exist, and what new programs, services or facilities are needed. Whether you’re an active participant, a parent, a senior, a resident or someone interested in recreation’s broader community benefits, your perspective is valuable.
How is my input used?
Your ideas and feedback help influence the Recreation Strategic Plan and guide the recommendations that are made for recreation in the County.
Why is the plan being developed now?
The plan is being created now because the County is growing and changing, and recreation needs to keep up. This helps make sure programs, facilities, and services meet the needs of residents today and in the future.
How does recreation benefit the County?
These services play a critical role in addressing growing social and health challenges. Even residents who do not actively participate benefit from these services, as they contribute to stronger community connections, local pride, economic impact, and improved overall wellness.
